MassCyberCenter’s eLearning Innovations: Elevating Module Production for Municipal Cybersecurity

“The MassCyberCenter developed the Minimum Baseline of Cybersecurity, a comprehensive resource for municipalities aimed at enhancing cybersecurity and resilience. Recognizing the need to promote awareness and educate stakeholders on its importance, MassCyberCenter envisioned an interactive experience to guide users in maximizing the resource’s utility.”

The Massachusetts Technology Collaborative issued a Request for Response (RFR) to create eLearning modules and supporting materials tailored for Massachusetts municipalities. The project aimed to introduce the Minimum Baseline of Cybersecurity in clear, actionable terms and provide practical recommendations along with online resources.
Winning vendor
eResponders was the winning vendor on this RFR and we crafted a fictional narrative about a town called MassBoro where the town clerk clicks on a link on a phishing email and a leviathan takes hold. It takes the municipal workers understanding each has a role to play in keeping the city cyber secure in order to defeat the leviathan.

To bring Massboro to life, our creative team designed Massboro based on the traditional architecture of the New Englan MA area and gave it a technological touch by adding vegetation with circuitry details.

eResponders successfully delivered the following:

Interactive modules, each lasting 10-15 minutes, utilizing the Articulate 360 software.

Videos featuring interviews with cybersecurity experts.

Supplementary PDFs for students and management, reinforcing recommended actions and resources.

At eResponders, we managed the entire process, from scripting to video production, in close collaboration with the MassCyberCenter.

The end product was delivered with English captioning and Spanish subtitles. All supporting material was also provided in Spanish. The end product produced a highly engaging and entertaining yet informative narrative that can be found on the MassCyber Center website.

Our collaboration with MassCyberCenter resulted in a transformative educational resource. The modules debuted at the Massachusetts Municipal Cybersecurity Conference in 2021 and are now accessible online.

This partnership exemplifies our commitment to expertise, passion, and a shared vision in delivering impactful solutions.
